Twenty-two down.

Deployment Recap: 22. Wow. That's a long time.

Emotional: Fine until it’s Saturday, Sunday or night time. Then I miss him the most.

Physical: Doing just fine. Running, CrossFitting, eating well. Finally suffered my first running-related toenail casualty, but I’ll spare you all the details.

Communication: None. As it always seems to be.

Something Fun You did This week: I had a great weekend- quiet night on Friday, met up with a friend from college on Saturday and went kayaking in Kailua. Then on Sunday I ran and went to the beach with more friends and went and saw the new Oz movie Sunday evening. It was a gorgeous, sunny weekend and I made the most out of it.

What are you looking forward to next week: Hopefully starting something new in the field of employment.

What made you happy this week: Friends who are there to keep me busy and have fun with makes the time apart much more enjoyable.

What made you sad/mad this week: The silence. I’m sick of having an invisible husband. And my close friend Tawnya moved home to Idaho this week as her husband is retiring from the Air Force in April. I'll miss her a lot.

What do you miss this week: I miss Lyle’s stories. He’s always got something fun to tell me about.

Favorite song/show/movie of the moment: I found an old mix CD from college that has a bunch of songs I haven’t listened to in 5 or 6 years and it’s been on repeat in the car lately.

Recap- from Japan!

Deployment Recap: Week 19, JAPAN version!

I’m went to Japan last week to see Lyle. The boat made a scheduled port call to Yokosuka Navy Base and I was able to fly there to spend some time with Lyle.  It was a fast, work-filled trip, but absolutely worth the time and effort.

Emotional: Absolutely happy. Best week of the deployment, because it’s been a “break”.

Physical: Lazy, but good.  I’ve hit the treadmill a couple times and have gone running on the base, and we’ve been walking everywhere in town. But I miss CrossFit. I’ll get back to it soon.

Communication: No complaints here, for once. It’s so nice to be able to sit and talk, almost like a real couple!

Something Fun You did This week: Everything- exploring Yokosuka, taking the trains to Tokyo and going to Tokyo Disneyland, exploring Tokyo. It’s been an amazing trip!

What are you looking forward to nextweek: Going home and getting life back to normal.

What made you happy this week: Seeing Lyle for the first time since before Halloween. That feeling of running to him and being hugged by him. Everything about this trip has made me happy.

What made you sad/mad this week: Too much work and stress for Lyle. But that’s life.

What do you miss this week: I am just trying to live in the moment right now and not miss anything.

Favorite song/show/movie of themoment: It’s March Madness (soon), so does NCAA basketball count?

What made you happy this week: Life- good weather, good friends back in town, email, running, it's all good.

What made you sad/mad this week:  The schedule keeps changing and it is stressing me out. But that's how our Sub Life goes.

Look- a seal! Can you spot him?
